Morganite is the pink variety of beryl, the same family as emerald and aquamarine, and is known as a stone of divine love. It was named in 1911 by Tiffany & Co. gemologist George Kunz in honor of financier and gem collector J.P. Morgan. It is said to open the heart to giving and receiving love, soften old hurts, and invite patience and compassion, both toward others and toward yourself.
