A mosaic of earth in your palm. Maligano Jasper is a natural breccia, broken fragments of stone fused back together over time, and these two show how different that process can look. Piece A is light and airy, packed with peach and cream fragments held in a fine charcoal web. Piece B is bold and moody, with large chunks of peach, rust and brick red floating in deep slate black. Both have a smooth, shallow thumb groove and a soft polish.

Maligano Jasper is the stone for when your head is racing and your feet have left the ground. As a brecciated jasper, it draws excess energy out of an overthinking mind and settles it back into the body, bringing emotional stability and a clearer head. Like all jaspers, it’s a supreme nurturer: it sustains you through stressful stretches, strengthens your boundaries and supplies the determination to see a project through to the end. It makes an excellent worry stone, and tucked under the pillow it’s traditionally used for dream recall. It’s a newer find, named for the village of Maligano in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, where it formed in the hot springs of ancient volcanoes. It’s shattered stone fused back together, which feels like exactly the point.
